THE CHALLENGE

Forward With Design (FWD), a Canadian activewear brand, appointed our team to launch its debut apparel collection. The goal: create a standout, immersive experience that would firmly place the brand on the map and reflect its ethos of movement and travel. The challenge was to introduce FWD to market in a way that was as dynamic and aspirational as the brand itself- through a bold, content-rich activation.

Scope Of Work

  • Creative Concept Development and execution of a fully immersive brand experience in downtown Toronto
  • Set Design and Theme Creation centered around “Come Fly With Me” and “Workout” destinations, including a monochromatic photo studio installation
  • Venue Sourcing and Management for a high-impact, high-capacity space suited for large-scale video mapping and entertainment
  • Talent Booking including DJ Nineteen85 of R&B duo dvsn, along with professional hip-hop dancers
  • Video Mapping & Technical Production to simulate a journey through six destinations
  • Guest List Curation of high-profile tastemakers and influencers, with over 40% holding followings of 50,000+
  • Content Strategy to maximize user-generated content across social platforms
  • Event Management including run-of-show, staffing, guest check-in, and on-site logistics

The Results

Canadian activewear brand Forward With Design (FWD) appointed our team to successfully launch their first apparel collection. Through the lens of travel, we provided guests with a first look at FWD’s three SS22 capsule collections; Push, Free and Friday. Setting the brand apart, I led the creation of an immersive brand experience set in downtown Toronto. Guests escaped the city through a “Come Fly With Me” theme, with a final destination, referred to as “Workout”; a monochromatic photo studio with equipment, accessories and apparel.

In the main event space, video mapping covered the largest wall displaying a flight map taking guests on a journey to six destinations. The footage showcased ambassador travel content integrated into each destination, emphasizing the brand’s mission of always moving with you. Entertainment was unmatched as professional hip-hop dancers captivated the crowd, and celebrity DJ Nineteen85 of R&B duo dvsn spun from beginning to end.

A highly curated guest list of 220 attendees were present. Over 40% of attendees had a following of over 50,000 followers. The overwhelming amount of content shared impressively generated social buzz putting FWD on the map within just 48 hours of the launch event.
